Turning People On To Christ

New Testament Christians were accused of turning the world upside down with the good news of Jesus Christ (Acts 17:6). Is this hyperbole or a record of what happens when people faithfully spread Jesus’ message of love and grace? Based on what Luke says in Acts 5, I believe the latter: “Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ” (verse 42). With a sweeping focus, they just told people the good news of Jesus Christ.

Because I am preaching an evangelism series for the next couple of weeks, my email will target how we can follow the footsteps of those first believers, but before we start talking to people about Jesus, let’s start praying for friends, neighbors, and communities (1 Timothy 2:1).

How can we pray?

Let me propose a simple strategy:
…Focus on THREE people (family members, friends, neighbors, or co-workers).
…Pray for THREE minutes a day.
…Pray for THREE weeks.
…Pray for God’s blessings to cover them.
…Physical needs…
…Work needs…
…Health needs…
…Family needs…
…Spiritual needs (Their salvation).

If we believe Jesus when he said, “I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13), this is the perfect starting point.
